Testicular cancer is a malignancy arising from the testis.
Testicular cancers are predominantly germ cell tumours.
The 2022 WHO classification divides testicular tumours into the following groups:[1]
- Germ cell tumours derived from germ cell neoplasia in situ.
- Noninvasive germ cell neoplasia.
- Germinoma family of tumours.
- Nonseminomatous germ cell tumours.
- Mixed germ cell tumours of the testis.
- Germ cell tumours of unknown type.
- Germ cell tumours unrelated to germ cell neoplasia in situ.
- Sex-cord stromal tumours.
