E-cadherin is a common immunostain.
Mutations in the epithelial cadherin gene (E-cadherin), also known as CDH1, are associated with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer syndrome.[1][2]
Negative
- Lobular breast carcinoma.
- Atypical lobular hyperplasia.
- Lobular carcinoma in situ.
- Gastric adenocarcinoma, diffuse type.

- Complete membrane staining.
Comment:
- Partial loss is considered negative staining.
