E-cadherin

E-cadherin is a common immunostain.

Mutations in the epithelial cadherin gene (E-cadherin), also known as CDH1, are associated with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer syndrome.

Negative

• Lobular breast carcinoma.
• Atypical lobular hyperplasia.
• Lobular carcinoma in situ.
• Gastric adenocarcinoma, diffuse type.

• Complete membrane staining.

Comment:

• Partial loss is considered negative staining.
